Characters on GURPG follow a simple level system. If you read the following rules closely, getting the hang of things should be easy.
What are levels?:
Characters on GURPG level up by either going through the many dungeons or by competing in the arena. Levels reflect how strong a character is, and allow them access to better skills and spells, and also better weapons.
How to level?:
Leveling up is simple; each character requires 100 exp to level up, with the cap being level 100. This is done by clearing dungeons or winning fights in the arena. (See exp rules for more)
How do I get stats?:
Upon making your character, you will be given 10 stats to distribute amongst the categories. After each level up, you will be awarded 10 more stats, and, on top of this, your maximum health and spirit power will be increased by the amount listed below.
Stats:
Stats reflect how powerful your character is. Upon reaching level 100 you will have a total of 1000 base stats that you can distribute, each area has a cap of 500.
Health - One of the basic stats every character has, this reflects how much health or HP a character has before they "die". Health starts at 100 and goes up by 10 with every level up.
Spirit Power- One of the basic stats every character has, this reflects how much Spirit Power or SP a character has to use skills and spells. SP starts at 50 and goes up by 10 with every level up.
Attack - One of the basic stats every character has, the Attack Stat reflects how much power is put behind attacks ,which reflects how much damage they can inflict upon another player's HP bar.
Defense - One of the basic stats every character has, the Defense Stat reflects how durable your character is against damage, characters with a high defense will take less damage from a character with a lower attack power.
Speed - One of the basic stats every character has, the Speed Stat reflects how fast your character can get from point A to point B, and also how fast they can move their weapon. Characters with a higher speed stat have a better chance to have a successful strike on someone with a lower stat. For every 10 speed, you can do two actions per post. With Rapid Attack weapons, you will do an extra 1 point of damage for every 10 speed you have.
Magic Power- One of the basic stats every character has, the Magic Power, or MP, Stat reflects how powerful your character's spells are.
Magic Defense - One of the basic stats every character has, the Magic Defense, or MD, Stat reflects how durable your character is against magic based attacks. Characters with a high MD will take less damage from magic based attacks cast from a player with a low MP.
