Fighting is a main part of GURPG, but it is not without rules. They are as follows:
Rules:
-Fighting, for now, may only take place within the arena. This may or may not be changed later.
-All fights will be judged to ensure everything is kept fair.
-Upon being "killed" the character is returned to the Root Town.
-Both players must state their stats at the start of the battle. They must also state their remaining HP and SP at the end of each post.
-All battles will be detailed fully to the best of your ability. There will be no hiding, vague manipulation, etc. just straight forward Roleplay.
How battles work:
-Fights are to the last player standing. Once your HP runs out, your character "dies." Damage is calculated based upon your overall stats.
-In fights, real time damage is not done. Instead when a hit connects, a slight recoil effect occurs and the player takes damage, an example of this is;
<Player A hits Player B with his right twin sword on the chest. Player B is knocked back a few inches as his character flashes, taking damage.>
Taking Damage:
Damage calculation is simple; in battle, you take the characters attack stat and subtract it by the defender's defense stat. The total is the amount of damage done to a characters HP should the attack connect. The lowest the damage amount can get is 1.
If a character blocks an attack with their weapon, then the damage received will be cut in half. This is the only time damage can reach 0.
